In May 2022, Ohtani hit two homers in three at-bats against the Blue Jays in Anaheim. He finished with eight total bases, a walk, and a hit by pitch.

Despite such an impressive performance at the plate, the Angels lost the game 11-10. Ohtani had three RBI, which is his second most in a game against the Jays. 

How Many Homers Has Ohtani Hit Against the Blue Jays?

Ohtani has hit eight homers against the Toronto Blue Jays. He has hit three home runs over his last six games against the Jays. 

Having led the American League in homers in 2023, it’s hardly surprising that Ohtani has eight home runs off Blue Jays pitching. If you want to put a more positive spin on it, there are 10 teams that Ohtani has homered against more often, including the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees.

Which Blue Jays Pitchers Have Done Well Against Ohtani? 

Few pitchers have gotten the upper hand on Ohtani over his MLB career. He is a better hitter against righties than lefties, but his OPS is still up at .832 when facing southpaws.

On the current Blue Jays staff, Yimi Garcia has the best record, with no hits allowed in three at-bats. Garcia has walked Ohtani on two occasions, though, and this is a tiny sample. 

In the rotation, Chris Bassitt and Kevin Gausman have good numbers against Ohtani, holding him to an OPS of .699 and .778, respectively. José Berríos and Yusei Kikuchi have both struggled.
