Prediction: Who Will Win 2025 American League Rookie of the Year?
Wilson is the current favourite to win 2025 American League Rookie of the Year at -1000, followed by:
- Jac Caglianone, Kansas City Royals (+1400)
- Nick Kurtz, Athletics (+1400)
Caglianone is my pick to win the 2025 American League Rookie of the Year. I think his 65 OPS+ is going to improve drastically, as his batted-ball metrics are very promising.

2025 AL Rookie of the Year Favourites & Best Bets
Jacob Wilson AL Rookie of the Year Odds -1000
Priced -556 a fortnight ago, Wilson has shortened to -1000 to win Rookie of the Year. Despite a .568 OPS over the last two weeks, Wilson has the best OPS+ among all rookies in 2025.
I am surprised to see Wilson is such a heavy favourite. He rarely walks and has been a subpar defender at shortstop, so I could see his odds lengthening in the coming weeks.
Jac Caglianone AL Rookie of the Year Odds +1400
Even with a 65 OPS+, I think Caglianone is a legitimate candidate for this award. The Kansas City Royals slugger has made much better contact than his numbers suggest, and he was lighting up Triple-A earlier this year.
There is significant upside in Caglianone’s profile. I could see him finishing the year with 20+ home runs.
Nick Kurtz AL Rookie of the Year Odds +1400
Kurtz has leapt into the top three after hitting four home runs across the last seven days. High bat speed and a 14.9% barrel rate suggest Kurtz’s power numbers in the minor leagues should translate to MLB.
I expect an improvement in his production against left-handed pitchers (currently a .478 OPS).

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Misiorowski is the current favourite in baseball betting odds to win 2025 National League Rookie of the Year at +150, followed by:
- Drake Baldwin, Atlanta Braves (+350)
- Agustin Ramirez, Miami Marlins (+450)
Baldwin is my best online sportsbook pick to win NL Rookie of the Year in 2025. He combines good defence behind the plate with impressive production as a hitter.

Ranked the 44th-best prospect by Baseball America, Misiorowski has made an exceptional start to his big-league career with a 1.64 ERA across his first two starts.
The hard-throwing right-hander has a 1.84 xERA. The early signs are good, but it’s too early for me to back Misiorowski at this price.
Drake Baldwin NL Rookie of the Year Odds +350
Baldwin had a slump earlier this month but has bounced back with a 1.071 OPS over the last seven days.
Playing above-average defence behind the plate, I think Baldwin has a compelling Rookie of the Year campaign if he maintains an OPS above .800.
Agustin Ramirez NL Rookie of the Year Odds +450
I don’t think Agustin Ramirez is a legitimate contender for this award. He doesn’t provide any defensive value and has a 97 OPS+ for the year.
After a hot start, the Marlins designated hitter/catcher has a .641 OPS over the last month.
