Throughout their history, the Toronto Blue Jays have had some elite base runners.
Only five Jays have recorded 50 or more stolen bases in a single season, and three players appear multiple times in the list of the highest single-season stolen base tallies.

1. Dave Collins — 60 (1984)
Dave Collins only spent two seasons as a Blue Jay.
In the second of those campaigns, Collins registered 60 stolen bases, which were accompanied by an AL-leading 15 triples.
2. Roberto Alomar — 55 (1993)
The 1993 season was Roberto Alomar’s third as a Jay. He stole 55 bases in 70 attempts.
In a repeat of the two previous seasons, Alomar finished sixth in MVP voting.
T-3. Dámaso García — 54 (1982)
The 1982 season was the best of Dámaso García’s career. He had a 4.6 bWAR and stole 54 bases in 74 attempts.
Garcia finished 26th in the 1982 MVP race, despite posting a 95 OPS+.
T-3. Otis Nixon — 54 (1986)
A speedy centerfielder, Otis Nixon remarkably stole 54 bases in his age-37 season.
Nixon stole 620 bases in his career and averaged 65.9 stolen bags per 162 games between 1988 and 1997.
5. Roberto Alomar — 53 (1991)
After arriving from the San Diego Padres, Alomar stole 53 bases in 64 attempts.
The second baseman also had 11 triples in 1991.
6. Shannon Stewart — 51 (1998)
The 1998 season was Shannon Stewart’s breakout campaign. After playing 44 games in 1997, Stewart had a 3.4 bWAR in 1998.
Part of the left fielder’s value was his base running, as he stole 51 bases in 69 attempts.
7. Roberto Alomar — 49 (1992)
After stealing 53 bags in 1991, Alomar was held to 49 in 52 attempts in 1992. His OPS+ jumped 15 points, too.
Alomar and the Jays won the first of back-to-back titles in 1992.
8. Otis Nixon — 47 (1997)
If his age-37 season was impressive, Nixon was even more aggressive on the bases in 1997 with 47 stolen bases in only 103 games.
He would have been much further up this list if he hadn’t been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in August.
T-9. Rajai Davis — 46 (2012)
Rajai Davis was an elite runner deep into his 30s. In 2012, he was near his athletic peak.
Davis stole 46 bases, but his offensive struggles showed in his 0.8 bWAR.
T-9. Dámaso García — 46 (1984)
Garcia only stole 31 bases in 1983, but got back to his usual standards with 46 stolen bags in 1984.
The season saw Garcia named to the All-Star team for the first time in his career.
