  • Jeff Kent has the most home runs of any second baseman in MLB history.
  • Only three second basemen have hit over 300 big-league home runs.
  • Marcus Semien has the most home runs by a second baseman in a single season.

Second basemen haven’t traditionally been known for their power hitting. There have been some exceptions throughout baseball’s history, but second basemen have generally been contact hitters with limited power-hitting ability.

While it’s hardly surprising that only three second basemen have hit over 300 home runs in the majors, the players featured in this list have invariably been among the favourites to hit a home run in the baseball betting markets.
