Pitcher home runs have produced many entertaining moments throughout MLB history. They were infrequent, but still happened multiple times per season. Since the introduction of the universal DH, it’s unlikely another pitcher will hit a home run.
Even the pitchers with the most ability at the plate were never baseball betting favourites to hit a home run. The exceptions are Shohei Ohtani and Babe Ruth, who are not featured on this list.
This is a tally of home runs hit when the player was in the game as a pitcher, rather than career totals, as Ohtani and Ruth would inevitably top the list.
