AL East Odds: Blue Jays Prediction & Odds To Win Division

The Toronto Blue Jays have gone 14-10 since May 12. 

Despite their improved record, the latest baseball odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook don’t have the Jays as favourites for the division in 2026. 

Only three AL teams have shorter MLB odds to win the World Series than the Jays, however.

Will the Blue Jays Win the AL East?

Toronto has moved to only seven games behind the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees. A series loss to the Atlanta Braves was followed by taking two out of three against the Baltimore Orioles, and the Jays have some key players set to return in the next week or two. 

Dylan Cease, Max Scherzer, Alejandro Kirk, Addison Barger, and Shane Bieber are nearing their respective returns. Toronto has a pivotal week ahead with series against the Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies. How they fare this week will give a much clearer picture of their division chances. 

A seven-game deficit is hardly insurmountable in early June. It becomes very challenging if the Rays or Yankees get a double-digit lead over the Jays, but time is on Toronto’s side. 

The Jays have done well to hang around .500 with all the injuries they have suffered. When healthy, this team is more than capable of going on a run and putting up a fight for the division title. 

How Many Wins are Needed to Win the AL East?

The standard in the AL East has dropped slightly in recent years. In 2024 and 2025, 94 wins were enough to win the division, with the Jays pipping the Yankees on head-to-head record last season.

Between 2018 and 2023, the AL East champion won at least 99 games, except for the shortened 2020 season. Since 2010, only five full seasons have seen the AL East winner collect fewer than 95 wins.
