After heartbreak in the World Series in 2025, what can fans expect from the Toronto Blue Jays in 2026?
The latest Blue Jays World Series odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook price them among the World Series favourites. Only two American League teams – the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners – have shorter odds at the time of writing.
The Jays have the baseball betting favourite for AL Rookie of the Year, a legitimate MVP candidate, and several pitchers who could be in the Cy Young mix.
Toronto Blue Jays MLB Odds For 2026
Win Total: 88.5
AL East: +260
AL Pennant: +600
Playoff Odds: -200
World Series Odds: +1300
Five teams have a higher win total than the Blue Jays ahead of the 2026 season. Toronto, at +260, has the second-shortest odds to win the American League East after pipping the Yankees to the division title last season.
Having been outsiders 12 months ago, the betting markets are much more optimistic about the Jays’ chances in 2026. The Yankees and Mariners are the only AL teams with shorter odds to make the playoffs, while only four National League teams are shorter than Toronto’s -200.
Notably, the Jays have gone over 88.5 wins in four of the last five seasons, including their 94-win haul in 2025.
Key Blue Jays Offseason Additions & Losses
Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce were signed as free agents to revamp the rotation. Tyler Rogers, one of the most consistent and durable relievers in baseball, was handed a multiyear deal to pitch in front of Jeff Hoffman and Kazuma Okamoto was signed to play the hot corner.
Bo Bichette, Chris Bassitt, and Seranthony Domínguez were the most important players to leave in free agency.
Bassitt’s innings should be replaced by Cease. Bichette leaves the middle infield looking like a weakness, though the rest of the lineup is stacked.
2026 Blue Jays Betting Predictions: Can Toronto Repeat?
I predict the Blue Jays will go over 88.5 wins (+100) and be one of four AL East teams to make the playoffs. Toronto is -200 to reach the postseason, and four AL East teams reaching the playoffs is +475 at BetMGM.
The combination of Cease and Trey Yesavage ensures the Jays’ rotation is markedly stronger than it was 12 months ago. Kazuma Okamoto’s numbers in NPB suggest he will be able to be effective in the majors, and I like the upside bet on Jesús Sánchez.
The lineup won’t necessarily be as good as it was in 2025. Projections have the Jays ranking eighth in runs scored per game, but they are also notably in the top 10 in ERA. I think this is a well-rounded team with a high floor if Cease, Kevin Gausman, and Yesavage are healthy enough to make a combined 80 starts.
Best Blue Jays Players to Watch This Year
Blue Jays fans are fortunate to have a catalogue of players to choose from in this category. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is one of the best hitters in baseball; it’s not out of the question that he wins the Triple Crown and AL MVP.

Cease has electric stuff. Cease ranked 10th in stuff+ in 2025 and was a legitimate Cy Young contender in 2022 and 2024. Ponce arrives off the back of a spectacular season in the KBO, while submariner Rogers is a must-watch out of the bullpen with his unusual delivery and knack for getting awkward swings from hitters.
Fans of elite play behind the plate can enjoy Alejandro Kirk’s blocking and framing, which will still be relevant, even with hitters able to challenge calls in 2026. Daulton Varsho is bound to produce some highlight-reel plays in centre field, and don’t be surprised if Sánchez’s 93rd percentile bat speed delivers some jaw-dropping home runs.
Best Blue Jays Prospects
Yesavage is still technically a prospect. Yesavage shone in the playoff run last year and will be one of the Jays’ top two or three starters in 2026.
Jake Bloss – acquired in the Yusei Kikuchi trade – and Ricky Tiedemann are two of the Jays’ top five prospects. Both will likely feature in the big leagues this season, with Tiedemann finally working his way back from a long injury absence and Bloss projected to be healthy in the second half after Tommy John surgery.
Arjun Nimmala is the Jays’ top position player prospect and a top 100 prospect in baseball. The 2023 first-round pick had a .694 OPS in high-A last year and is unlikely to make his big-league debut until 2027 at the earliest.
Elsewhere in the farm system, infielder Josh Kasevich could get a look in the majors if he proves he can hit Triple-A pitching, and Yohendrick Pinango and R.J. Schreck are useful outfield depth pieces, with both players posting strong offensive numbers in the minors last year.
