Where’s the Hardest Place to Win College Football Games?

Wagering on the home team can sometimes be a solid college football betting strategy, especially if the team you’re playing at is home to one of the hardest college football stadiums to play at.

Here, I’ll look at the past 10 years of home win-loss records in college football. Knowing this data could help when you bet online for the 2024 college football season and beyond.

5. Michigan Wolverines – Michigan Stadium

The Wolverines are coming off a national title win in 2023, but over the past 10 years, they’ve gone 56-11 at home. Before the last couple of seasons, the Wolverines had some difficult seasons when it came to beating conference rivals Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan State. Now, the team will look to rebuild with a new head coach and nearly 20 new starters. 

They had a massive win during the 2023 season, beating Ohio State 30-24.

4. Georgia Bulldogs – Sanford Stadium

The Bulldogs have dominated over the past few years, including winning two of the last three national championships from 2021 to 2023. Heading into the 2024 season, Georgia was ranked No. 1 in the country. Most of their losses over the past 10 years came in 2016 when they went 3-3 at home with Jacob Eason as their quarterback. 

The Bulldogs had a close call against Mississippi State in 2020, but their quarterback, JT Daniels, threw for over 400 yards. 

3. Ohio State Buckeyes – Ohio Stadium

Over the past 10 seasons, the Buckeyes have had three of their starting quarterbacks, Dwayne Haskins, Justin Fields, and C.J. Stroud, drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. 

In 2022, the Buckeyes put up 77 points at home against Toledo. Stroud had five touchdown passes. 

2. Clemson Tigers – Tiger Stadium

The Tigers are coming off a lackluster 2023 season, but before that, they had a strong run at the quarterback position with Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence. However, in November 2018, they put up 77 points at home against Louisville, with Chase Brice throwing for three touchdowns. 

1. Alabama Crimson Tide – Bryant-Denny Stadium

Since 2014, the Crimson Tide have won three national championships and have had several high-profile players come through the program. Quarterback Bryce Young was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. A standout home win since 2014 came in 2017 when they beat Ole Miss 66-3. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had 197 passing yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 101 yards and a touchdown.
