  • The Crimson Tide have produced two quarterbacks over the last five drafts to go top five.
  • Over the past five drafts, LSU has produced three first-round wide receivers, including Justin Jefferson, Malik Nabers, and Ja’Marr Chase.
  • The Gators had just one draft pick in 2024, and it was a first-round pick with Ricky Pearsall.

College football odds are directly impacted by the players on the field, and their performance can determine whether or not they get drafted.

Then, when they enter the NFL, their play impacts the football odds in those games.

Over the last five years, we’ve seen plenty of impactful players drafted into the NFL, and below, I’ll look back at what schools have had the most draft picks.

Spoiler: Georgia has had the most.

Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs have had many fantastic defences in recent years, leading to many draft picks coming from that side of the ball, including Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo, and more.

However, in the 2024 NFL Draft, we saw a lot of offensive talent come off the board first, with tight end Brock Bowers, offensive tackle Amarius Mims, and wide receiver Ladd McConkey.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Over the last five years, we’ve seen two Crimson Tide quarterbacks go in the first round and top five. Those players were Tua Tagovailoa (2020) and Bryce Young (2023). Young was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft by the Carolina Panthers.

Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines had 13 players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, including quarterback J.J. McCarthy. He was the first Wolverines quarterback to be drafted in the first round since Jim Harbaugh in 1987.

LSU Tigers

The Tigers have had two quarterbacks go inside the top two over the past five NFL Drafts. These include Joe Burrow in 2020 and Jayden Daniels in 2024. Burrow was the No. 1 overall pick, and since getting drafted, he’s made it to a Super Bowl with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Just a year later, the Bengals also drafted wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Other notable players include Derek Stingley, Justin Jefferson, and Malik Nabers.

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes saw wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. go with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In 2023, quarterback C.J. Stroud went No. 2 overall. He was the second quarterback since 2021 to go in the first round, and the other was Justin Fields.

Penn State Nittany Lions

The Nittany Lions have seen a lot of defensive talent fly off the board over the past five years. Of their 33 draft picks, more than half were picks on defence. However, the top pick in 2024 was offensive tackle Olu Fashanu. Since 2020, there have been two drafts where Penn State didn’t produce a first-round pick.

Clemson Tigers

In 2021, the Tigers saw quarterback Trevor Lawrence go No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. That same draft, the Jaguars also took running back Travis Etienne. In the 2022 draft, only two players from Clemson were drafted. Over the last two drafts, there have been three first-round picks from Clemson: Nate Wiggins, Myles Murphy, and Bryan Bresee.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Over the past five drafts, the 2021 draft produced the most Notre Dame draft picks with nine. After that draft, only two players from Notre Dame were drafted, including safety Kyle Hamilton. In 2024, offensive tackle Joe Alt went No. 5 overall to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Florida Gators

The Gators haven’t performed well in college football lately. In 2024, there was just one Gators draft pick, wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who went in the first round. In 2023, quarterback Anthony Richardson went No. 4 overall to the Indianapolis Colts.

Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners didn’t produce a first-round draft pick in 2021 or 2022, but they had four in 2020, 2023, and 2024, including Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Oregon Ducks

The Ducks saw Bo Nix go No. 12 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was the first Ducks quarterback to be drafted since Justin Herbert in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Ducks have had at least one first-round pick each year since 2020.

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns have had a lot of talent drafted, especially over the past two years with Bijan Robinson, Xavier Worthy, Byron Murphy II, T’Vondre Sweat, Jonathon Brooks, A.D. Mitchell, and more.

Auburn Tigers

An Auburn player wasn’t drafted before the fifth round in 2024, and the last first-round picks came in 2020 with Derrick Brown and Noah Igbinoghene.

USC Trojans

Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams. He’s viewed as one of the best quarterback prospects since Andrew Luck, and he went No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Chicago Bears.

Washington Huskies

The Huskies produced three first-round picks in 2024, including Michael Penix Jr., Rome Odunze, and Troy Fautanu. Of the last five drafts, they’ve had at least one first-round pick in four of them. The 2024 draft saw 10 total Huskies get drafted.
