He ranks sixth in passing yards (6,911), eighth in passing touchdowns (59), and seventh in total offence (7,121).
5. Haloti Ngata
It’s important to remember that the Ducks have seemingly always been an offence-first team, but there’s one defender that stands out massively among the rest, and that’s Ngata.
Before going on to have an NFL Hall of Fame-worthy career, Ngata played three seasons for the Ducks.
During that time, he won the Morris Trophy, was a consensus All-American, first-team All-Pac-10, and the Pac-10 co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Ngata totalled 107 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
He was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.
6. Bo Nix
Nix played just two seasons for the Ducks after transferring from Auburn, but he helped put them back in the national title conversation.
He won 22 games and lost five during his two years and ranks fifth in passing yards (8,101), third in passing touchdowns (74), third in total offence (8,845), and second in touchdowns responsible for (94).
Again, this was all within two seasons. Imagine if he could’ve played another?
He was the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2023, was first-team All-Pac-12, and won the William V. Campbell Award.
In his final season before entering the NFL, Nix completed 77.4% of his passes on 470 attempts, for 45 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
7. Mel Renfro
A consensus All-American in 1962, Renfro was a unique player for the Ducks.
He played both running back and defensive back.
Renfro finished his Ducks playing days with 269 carries for 1,532 yards, 15 rushing touchdowns, 41 receptions for 644 yards, five touchdown catches, and even completed 14 passes for 2676 yards and four passing touchdowns.
Renfro was a versatile player and is in the Pro Football and College Football Hall of Fame.
