- The Penn State Nittany Lions hold whiteouts at home games.
- Tigers Stadium has numbers for yards on the field in increments of five instead of 10.
- The Rose Bowl houses UCLA Bruins home games and one of the most prominent bowl games in all of college football, the Rose Bowl.
While having the best college football stadium may not always correlate to having the football odds to win a game or championship, there’s plenty of room for top teams to create a gameday experience that makes the stadium that much better.
As a spoiler, the team leading my list below topped the college football odds last season to win the national title and did so.
Going into the 2024 season, the BetMGM online sportsbook had Georgia as the odds-on favourite to win the title, and they do have a spot on my list.
With all that said, let’s check out my top 12 stadiums in college football.

1. Michigan Stadium — Michigan Wolverines
Jim Harbaugh might be out of town now, but the Wolverines remain national title contenders after winning one this past season. With more than 107,000 fans on hand week in, week out, “The Big House” has been home to a number of high-profile games over the years and is the biggest college football stadium in the sport.

2. Beaver Stadium — Penn State Nittany Lions
Known as one of the loudest college football stadiums in the country, the whiteouts make for one of the most compelling atmospheres in all of college football. There are enough seats for more than 106,000 fans, and the Nittany Lions are looking to climb the rankings in the Big Ten with Drew Allar under center.

3. Ohio Stadium — Ohio State Buckeyes
The top three best stadiums are in the Big Ten, with Ohio Stadium rounding things out. There are more than 100,000 fans weekly here. The team is a top contender year in and year out. The team is constantly improving as they seek a college football national championship, and the horseshoe design gives it a feel of a modern-day Roman Coliseum.
4. Tiger Stadium — LSU Tigers
The first stadium here from the SEC, Tiger Stadium could make an argument to be the best in the sport. The design of the stadium is incredibly unique with the field showing numbers every 5 yards and a tiger enclosure nearby.

5. Neyland Stadium — Tennessee Volunteers
The new owner of the record of the loudest stadium, Neyland Stadium is a sight to behold. The stadium is so tall and the design makes it look like a giant crater above ground. The checkered seats and end zones add a nice touch and the upcoming renovation will only make it that much more visually appealing.

6. Kyle Field — Texas A&M Aggies
Kyle Field is the largest stadium in college football, and the fans here make it one of the best stadiums in sports. What other school has fans practice yelling the night before home games?
Also, the seats at the top of the stadium are high up but provide an excellent view.
There isn’t a bad seat in the house.
7. Bryant-Denny Stadium — Alabama Crimson Tide
When you look at Bryant-Denny Stadium, it’s not exactly anything special. There’s no quirky design or anything, but the Crimson Tide football teams that play there make for an unforgettable gameday experience.
Nick Saban is now gone, so hopefully Kalen DeBoer can continue making it an exciting game day.

8. Rose Bowl — UCLA Bruins
While this stadium hosts every UCLA Bruins home game, it’s best known for hosting the most legendary bowl game, the Rose Bowl.
The design is super unique and somewhat looks like a flying saucer with how outward and flat appealing it is. It was designed by Myron Hunt.

9. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium — Florida Gators
If I were crafting this list like 15 years ago, this stadium would be much higher up. Sadly, the Gators football program has struggled over the past few years, but like Alabama, the teams that played here made for an unreal atmosphere.
The design here feels almost square or rectangular, and the swirling walk ramps under the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium sign are awesome to look at from an overhead shot.

10. Sanford Stadium — Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs won back-to-back national titles but missed out on the College Football Playoff following the 2023 season.
However, this stadium has some fun quirks, including the hedges around the field and the stadium, which is more flat in one end zone with the video board. However, the rest of the stadium stands high and fans out.

11. Autzen Stadium — Oregon Ducks
Autzen is a smaller stadium and while the design doesn’t have much more besides a roof on the Ducks sideline to help shade the team, the fans here are nearly on top of each other, creating a packed environment.

12. Memorial Stadium – Clemson Tigers
Who doesn’t want to visit a stadium that’s nicknamed Death Valley?
The double-decker stands flanking the field and watching the “Run Down the Hill” before each game makes for a unique game day experience.
