  • A CFL field is 10 yards longer and approximately 12 yards wider.
  • A CFL end zone is 20 yards deep, while the NFL is 10.
  • A CFL field has a 55-yard marker, which is 110 yards long.

As you dig into more CFL betting odds, it’s important to understand how different the CFL field is from the NFL. While both sports are football, there are distinct differences, like the field size.

So, before you head to your favourite online sportsbook for more CFL wagering, read below to learn just how different these fields are.

Overall Field Size

A CFL field is 110 yards long and 65 yards wide, while an NFL field is 100 yards long and 53.3 yards wide. As a result, a CFL field has a 55-yard marker, marking the middle of the field.

End Zones

The end zone in the CFL is 20 yards deep, while it’s 10 yards in the NFL.

Goal Posts

Because of the deeper end zone, the CFL places its goalpost at the front of the end zone. In the NFL, the goalpost is at the back of the end zone.

Hash Marks

Because the CFL field is bigger, hash marks are 24 yards from the sideline. In the NFL, the hash marks are 18.5 yards apart and centered on the field. The hash marks in the CFL being centred on the field allow for adequate space between ball placement on the sideline.
